Onboarding the Interns (Complete)
The onboarding process for Business Mfg. United Co. (BuMfUC) interns is a real cram session, but has been found critical in setting expectations early. Lunch will be provided, as well as afternoon snacks, dinner, and supper, if additional sessions are needed or desired.
From the BuMfUC handbook:
Here, you're not an employee, you're a future culture-carrier. Your unique blend of passion, talent, and forward-(and backward-)leaning energy is precisely the kind of value-add that helps us pivot, circle-back, and thrust forward into fertile new markets. We are beyond thrilled, deeply humbled, and frankly turgid with anticipation to have a new dynamic addition to the family. Big things ahead. Bigger things behind those.
A recently on-boarded intern, Ashlai, commented:
I've never been filled with, uh... knowledge, so quickly and thoroughly. I feel like I could burst at the seams. They said it would be 'like drinking from a firehose', and they were wrong: it was more like two firehoses! But now that I've seen how fulfilling this line of work can be, I can't wait until I'm the one injecting loads of knowledge into the next generation of BuMfUC-ers!
Author's note:
I'd been wanting to do an under-the-table scene for a while, and was right chuffed to be able to create a scene with three characters performing at the same time. Particularly proud of some of the shenanigans I was able to manifest with the onboarders' fleshy instruments. I do wish I'd extended some of those a bit longer, bit this took goddamn forever to create as it is. The workflow has created a bit of an organizational nightmare, and needs to be overhauled before attempting something like this again.
